Insecurity about new therapist

Postby texaslegal » Thu Aug 21, 2008 1:47 pm

My husband and I are each seeing the same therapist, separately, this week was my first session, he's been twice. With me she was rather reserved, kept the door open for the hour. Yet with my husband she closes her door and sits with him on her loveseat. She mentioned in my session that she would see us together, but she thinks it's better to see him alone, as he's really enjoying the attention. I was a little put out by that statement, am I being overly sensitive? :?

Sounds a little unorthodox, at least, her sitting beside your husband on a two person couch. The therapy sessions I have had with women therapists, they sat accross a coffee table.

Do you and your husband have a communication on ideas of jeaoulsy? Can you express that part of Love is jeaolusy? Seems constructive if you are jealous, some love may be left in the marrage?

What are your counseling goals?

What are your issues with the marriage, and what are his issues?
