I heard a country song, that the man was saying his woman was everything to him. Listed some roles (From Memory):

Mother of my unborn children
Rocking Chair Companion

Seems that it is helpful for me to think of the variaous partnership roles that my wife plays, and what the expectations, responsibilities, disappointments, supporting comments, appreciation, trade-offs and rewards that might go with each role, or particular aspect of the relationship.

Some other roles:

Financial Planner
Bill Paying Partner
Supply Clerk
Scraper of Savings
Emergency Responder
Delivery Driver
Food Freshness Quality Control Manager
