I generally try to please my wife, but there are times when I feel that my desires are being overlooked. A few phrases have occurred to me recently about how to assert my needs/wishes.

I don’t believe that you are thinking about how to please me.

It does not seem that you are thinking in terms of how to mesh those ideas with my opinions.

I appreciate your pointing out various long and short term considerations and dynamics, but it would be nice if you would key into my valuation of the balance of those perspectives.

It is nice of you to point out various perspectives, but I imagine that you could give more consideration to my desires.

I would like you to believe in me.
